Nidhogg was a huge, dinosaur-like creature dating back to the primordial earth. It was one of the most powerful monsters in the Myriad of Shadowrealms (even defeating Scathach) until Josh slew it using the power of Clarent.
History[]
Nidhogg is tens, if not hundreds, of millions of years old. It was used by the Disir to help the Elders to defeat the Archons and Earthlords, though it eventually became too difficult to control. The Elders agreed to imprison Nidhogg within the roots of the Yggdrasil (which extended into the shadowrealm of Niflheim), where it remained until Dee destroyed Yggdrasil with Excalibur (along with Niflheim, Asgard, and Hekate's Shadowrealm).
The Magician[]
Dee and Machiavelli then recruited the Disir to kill Scathach and kidnap the Twins of Legend, Josh and Sophie Newman, who were all hiding out in Saint-Germain's house. The Disir decided that they would bring the Nidhogg to deal with them. Once they summoned the dragon, it attacked the house and engaged Josh in combat. When Scathach began to fight as well, but soon it knocked her out. But just before it could devour her, Josh used Clarent, the Sword of Fire, to injure Nidhogg. This frightened the creature and it ran from the house, with Scathach still in its claws, unconscious.
Josh pursued the creature as it tore its way through the city of Paris. A Dísir also pursued the creature and soon, Dee, Machiavelli, and Dagon began pursuing it as well. Soon, Nidhogg stopped at the Seine and Josh, who arrived second at the scene, injured the creature once more with Clarent. This caused lava crust to start to form up Nidhogg and began to kill the creature. It then let go of Scathach and began to slowly deteriorate into lava crust. Eventually, it was completely transformed and was destroyed.
Powers[]
Due to its huge size and weight, Nidhogg was incredibly strong and durable. It was so durable that no weapon is known to be able to penetrate its hide except for the five Swords of Power or one of its own claws. Despite its vast size, it could move at incredibly fast speeds. It also had a prehensile tail, and razor sharp claws and fangs. It was incredibly venomous as well and its senses were enhanced to a great degree.
Immortality: Nidhogg is Immortal and does not age. Though an immortal may be poisoned or slain in battle, they may live for thousands or millions of years.
Trivia[]
- It had memories of swimming in a sea, filled with many creatures a lot larger than it.
